In fact the scenery sidetracked me enough to have an 'off' - no damage done.
All day today was spent above 7000ft ! The highest we hit was somewhere about 10,000ft - the bike was struggling a little !
A few selected photos from the day (check out my flickr page for the rest)
La Veta airfield at 7000ft in the Rockies
Riding in the rockies
The 'plateau' at 9000ft
And finally, my wildlife photo of the day
The day's GPS track is here
Tomorrow is a day off - we are going white water rafting on the Colorado River, then upto the top of Pikes Peak (14000ft)

Looks like all is going well. Am enjoying your reports just in case you thought no one was reading them.. Cheers Scott
ReplyDeleteThanks Scott - glad to hear you are enjoying the blog entries.
ReplyDeleteWe're having a blast here.
We're following you too!! Looks great fun. More wildlife photos please and stop running the chickens over!

Take care Russ.
How hard do virtual tourists have to throw themselves at the floor to get the full experience of being distracted by scenery?
ReplyDeleteI'll try for more wildlife photos - I've already been chastised by Caroline for not getting a photo of either bear !!
ReplyDeleteHmm, That's a good question.
ReplyDeletePut on a pair of shorts and a tshirt, then run across the room (preferably a room with a carpet) then drop to your knees and try to slide on your knees to the wall.
Bonus points if you topple off your knees and get carpet burns on your elbows.
Let me know how you get on.
Well, I've got a pretty good graze on one knee, a slight black eye and a busted up hand (one finger and one thumb not working 100%).
ReplyDeleteDoes that count?
As usual, you take the instructions, and go one step further.
ReplyDeleteGood effort. Top Marks.
